This is a re-post from my LinkedIn that I wrote a while back.

User Interface are typically the medium between Humans and devices.

When the first computer was introduces by Charles Babbage in early 19th century, it was massive, huge and like mechanical engine (Not to mention the Turing Machine).

Time passes, that mega device took its own make-up and showed in front of us around 1973 with the name “Xerox Star”, the first of its kind to demonstrate the “Desktop” metaphor and “Graphical User Interface (GUI)”.

From then GUI is one among the important components of Operating System (OS). With GUI, anyone who knows to read and understand the English language can make use of the Computer and not necessary to learn the commands.

The concept of personal computer was so much attracted by people across the globe. This opens the market for many personal computers. Then time passes there comes the hero of our dynamic era, the so called Internet.

Now almost all of our day-to-day problems we are solving it using a single piece of machine that is connected to internet. In the world of Internet, the WWW (World Wide Web) provides the User Interface.
