This is one of a series of articles for beginners who are trying to understand why we need containers and orchestration tools.
This is one of that question that everyone asks in their organization and answering this really needs to take them through the chronicles of Infrastructure. So yeah, we are not going to find the flaws in the historical application deployments and maintenance methods or process. Instead we are going to understand how the technology evolved since then and give ourselves an applause for embracing that.
To get started let’s go back in time by ourselves and work through the clock. May be let’s start from 1989 for our theory. Now lets start a retail shop in 1989 and lets call it as the-retail-shop. We need to set up an office with simple infrastructure where we are running the server and exposing the service to our customers all over the country.
